#11 Dante Culpepper, new QB for the Dolphins

The Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins just agreed on a trade... QB Dante Culpepper for a second round draft pick. At his peak, Culpepper was one of the NFL's best QB's. But can he still play at that level after his knee injury. I hope so.

Culpepper may be the missing piece to make the Dolphins into a playoff/championship level team. Culpepper is a significant upgrade from last season's starter, Gus Frerotte and should do well.

Now if the Dolphins can land ego maniac Terrell Owens...

Post Super Bowl Monday morning QB

Super Bowl XL was a good game however it was plagued by bad officiating. It was as if the referees were biased against the Seahawks and wanted the Steelers to win. I counted three big plays that could have and should have gone the other way.

- A Seahawk TD at the end of the first quarter was taken away by a bogus offensive pass interference call. In the NFL, pushing off happens all the time. If there was any pass interference at all, it was very minor at best.

- The Roethlisberger TD run at the end of the first half should have been reversed. The ball never crossed the goal line. The closet referee to the play, the line judge, was going to spot the ball on the 1 when the other referee signaled TD.

- The holding penalty against Seattle on a pass play that could have resulted on having the ball on the 2 yard line and most possibly a TD, a FG for sure, at the end of the fourth quarter was complete bullshit.

Take away these bad calls and the score would have been 17-14 in favor of the Seahawks. Instead the score is 21-10 Steelers and the Seahawks were robbed.

As for the Super Bowl commercials... GM's Live Green, Go Yellow campaign is lame, FedEx's caveman was hilarious, Honda's Ridgeline spot was dumb, Budweiser's Clydesdale in training was cute, Michelob Amber's touch football shows that revenge can be a bitch (literally), the Pepsi ads were getting annoying and the GoDaddy chick was as hot as always.

If you missed any, you can see them all here again.

My Prediction for Super Bowl XL

We've heard a lot about the Steelers recently. The Steelers this, the Steelers that, second year QB Big Ben Roethlisberger, Jerome Bettis at the end of a long and successful career and veteran coach Bill Cowher who has yet to win the big game. Have we forgotten about the other team? You know, that other team, which happen to have the best record in the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks. What about Matt Hasselbeck, who had a 98.2 QB rating this season or NFL MVP, Shaun Alexander, who rushed to a new NFL record 28 TDs this season? On paper, the Seahawks are a better team but are going into the SuperBowl as underdogs somehow. Its like everyone wants and expects the Steelers to win. I'm a fan of the Dolphins and 49ers so I don't really care who wins but I like an underdog and SuperBowl commercials.

Seattle Seahawks 24 | Pittsburgh Steelers 17
