Boheme is making its way across the Atlantic

One week ago, the Boheme loaded my wife's MCS onto its bow. Today it is nearing the island shared by Haiti and Dominican Republic. It should be at the Panama Canal in a few days.

2008 Infiniti G37S on display at The Grove, LA

I'm very disappointed with the looks of the new G37S. Looks too bubblicious and not nearly as aggressive as the outgoing G35. I hate to say this but Nissan cheapened the G37S by making it look too much like an Altima.

Cooper S is officially En Route

According to MINI's Owner Lounge, our MCS is officially En Route.

Though still adjusting a bit to its sea-wheels, your new MINI wants you to know that so far the cruise has actually been a blast - great buffets and lots of partying with its brothers. But still, your MINI can't wait to dock, hit the road, and chew up solid ground again.

Cooper is Locked and Loaded

Our MINI Cooper S is yet another step closer to joining the family. It has just been loaded onto the Boheme, to set sail off from Southampton, UK today, across the Atlantic, through the Panama Canal and finally arrive at Port Hueneme, CA on 9/10.



And here's a little trivia... According to Wikipedia, La boheme is an opera in four acts by Giacomo Puccini to an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa, based on Scenes de la vie de Boheme by Henri Murger. The world premiere of La boheme was performed in Turin on February 1, 1896 at the Teatro Regio (now the Teatro Regio Torino) and conducted by the young Arturo Toscanini.

Cooper S is at the Port!

After almost the entire week of no updates, I finally received word today that our MINI is at the port waiting for transport. Woohoo!

Congratulations! Your healthy and handsome new MINI has been built. A wee bit heavy for any stork, your MINI will now be loaded onto a ship to make its way across the pond. At night, we're sure it'll be dreaming of tearing through twisty turns with aplomb and glee.

MINI Cooper S Complete!

Our MINI is complete and is now going through the QA process. Hopefully it will board a ship this week bound for the US.

Today, our MINI Cooper S is being painted at the body shop At Plant Oxford.

Hank Aaron is still the TRUE Homerun King

Today is not a day of celebration of Barry Bonds' 756th homerun, surpassing Hank Aaron's 755th homers, but a day of mourning for all sports fans across the country. We mourn of the steroid era that has become Major League Baseball and the fraud that is Barry Bonds who has attached his tainted name to professional sports' most honored record. We mourn that a cheater is among the greats, like Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth and Roger Maris, at least on paper. Most of all, we mourn that MLB's Commissioner Bud Selig has turned a blind eye and allowed this travesty to happen.

Boohoo MLB, Selig and Bonds. Hank Aaron is still the TRUE homerun king.

MINI Cooper S In Production

I called 866-ASK-MINI today and confirmed that our Cooper S is now in production as of yesterday! Woohoo!

Update: Logged onto the MINI Owner's Lounge and our baby has a VIN! Woohoo again!

Your MINI has been scheduled for production and will begin to move through the "birth canal" at our Oxford plant, one of the most modern and advanced production plants in all of Europe. With our extremely rigorous quality control standards in place, you should rest well knowing that your baby is in the best of hands.
