Miami Vice is back!

Teaser Trailer Link: http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/miamivice/

The TV show that brought fame onto Miami is back as a modernized film version and from this teaser trailer, it looks to be very bad. However I mean bad as in good, very good.

ASM S2000 - Fastest FR NA Car in Tsukuba Lap Battle

The ASM S2000 in its widebody kit, individual throttle bodies and 18" ProDrive wheels recorded the fastest time for an Front Engine, Rear Wheel Drive, Naturally Aspirated Car at 58.0 seconds in the Tsukuba Lap Battle.

While certainly wonderful for ASM, the question is, where was the Amuse S2000 GT1?

Merry Christmas

How has wishing someone a Merry Christmas become polically incorrect? Happy Holidays! Seasons Greetings! Annoying. Have we all forgotten what this holiday season is all about? It certainly seems like celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ has taken a backseat to political correctness. Afterall Jolly Ole Saint Nick proclaimed, "HO HO Merry Christmas!"

So heres to wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas.

J's Racing + ASM goodness

As a wedding gift, my beautiful, new wife presented with some special new toys for our S2000... J's Racing Carbon Tsuchinoko Intake System, ASM Radiator Cooling Plate and ASM Front Struct Tower Brace. Here are some pictures of the oh so fun installation.

The cancer called the AEM V2.

The tumor is out! In case you're thinking that the AEM V2 is the greatest thing next to sliced bread and wondering why I'm referring to it as a cancerous tumor, read my post on the subject.

Cut out the passenger side of the stock air guide. I still need to recut and clean it up some more.

Test fitting the new J's intake.

Time for the fun part... Lets cut a huge hole in a perfectly good hood! First let's mask off the area.

Lets prepare the patient for surgery.

Mask, goggles, gloves and drumel with high speed cutter attachment please.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH Mad scientist in action!

After 4 hours of cutting, measuring, recutting, remeasuring, recutting, its done! And not a single scratch to the underside of the hood.

And VIOLA! Its alive!

My wife had originally ordered version 1 of the ASM Radiator Plate but ASM no longer manufactures it so version 2, pre-cut for the Mugen intake, was sent out. What we received instead was version 3, pre-cut for the ASM intake. Not knowing this little mixup, I installed it and noticed the huge gap. I'm working with Bulletproof Automotive on an exchange.

My impression of the J's intake is WOW. Throttle response has been vastly improved from mid-range to top end. After 4,000 RPMs, the F20C unleashes a furious roar and pulls harder. The VTEC transition is more noticeable now. The design of this intake system by J's Racing is flawless. The fit and finish are both perfect. And as an additional benefit, I no longer have to check the damn weather channel to check if it is safe to drive the S2000 or not. No more wet filters and pouring 1/4 cup of water out from my intake. The only negatives are that the fiberglass bracket came in an clear, unfinished look, which I painted flat black, and I had only received pages one and three of the installation. All I had to go by was Step 1: Open hood. and Step 278: Close hood.

Special thanks to my beautiful wife, who gave me these fabulous gifts and assisted in the installation, Ben at AJ Racing who walked me through the installation and answered every single stupid question I threw at him and my friends from s2ki.com.
