Superman Returns Review

With all the hype surrounding Superman Returns, I thought that it might be setting itself up for huge disappointment. I was wrong. Superman Returns lived up to the hype and more, much more.

The storyline continues where Superman 2 left off, with Superman returning to Earth after spending the past 5 years in space searching for the remains of his planet Krypton. Lex Luthor is out of prison and has devised a plan to take over Earth (what else?). Lois Lane is now a mommy to a very "special" little boy (think about what occurred in Superman 2) and Pulitzer Prize Winner for her editorial entitled, "Why the World doesn't need Superman."

The special effects are excellent. The way that Superman flies around from slow speed to faster than a speeding bullet is realistic as can be.

The acting is almost perfect. Routh is a good Clark Kent and an awesome Superman. I won't compare Routh to Christopher Reeve, but I think Reeve would have been proud to have Routh take the Superman torch. The similarities of how the two actors played Clark Kent/Superman are uncanny. Kate Bosworth is a great Lois Lane. And Kevin Spacey is a evil and funny Lex Luthor.

In my opinion, Superman Returns is super.
