Islam - Misunderstood or Hypocritical?

Islam promotes itself as a religion of peace. Muslims worldwide demand tolerance and respect of their religion and culture, especially in light of the recent Danish cartoons controversy.

Yet we have Abdul Rahman, an Afghan who converted from Islam to Christianity sixteen years ago, and was faced with execution. What crime did he commit? Nothing except for being a Christian, which is against Muslim law. Under extreme global pressure, an Afghan court dropped the case on the declaration of mental illness. Mental illness? Since when was being a Christian insane? And in what is now becoming tradition, Muslims are violently protesting in the streets of Afghanistan tonight, shouting "Kill all Christians", "Death to America" and "Death to George Bush". Yawn. So what else is new with these Muslim extremists? Oh and Muslim leaders and clerics are calling for the death of Rahman.

So much for being a religion of peace, tolerance and respect. They demand that of us, yet they know nothing of peace, tolerance and respect within their own world.
