Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Like all Tim Burton/Johnny Depp creations, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is different, a departure from the action movie ad nauseum of the summer season. Its a visual feast for the eyes, rich in color. The plot stays true to the original, sometimes too true, and has many moments that just makes you go, "Awwwwwww." Johnny Depp plays a eccentric weirdo with shocking Michael Jacksonsque similarities. It teaches a rare lesson about the evils of soceity, namely gluttony, pride, sloth and greed, and about the importance of family.
I give Charlie a 7 out of 10.
